Done tasks and alphabetical sorting

Hey there!

My partner and I have been using Vikunja, and we absolutely love it. We had to take a little break because we were moving around quite a bit over the past few months, and I couldn’t run my servers.

Now that we’ve finally settled into a nice, permanent place, we’re excited to get back to our routine!

My partner really enjoyed using features like “show done tasks” and “alphabetical sorting,” but she noticed that these options seem to be missing now. While I think I can use filter queries for that, it looks like “done = true” isn’t working for us, and I’m struggling to find a way to sort alphabetically.

The old ticking boxes were super convenient for her, especially since she’s not particularly techy, so it felt really intuitive.

I’d love to know if there’s an easy, intuitive, and efficient way for us to access those features again.

Thanks a bunch for your help!

Hey!

This is similar to another thread: Query language for saved filters

As stated there, there will be an option in the next major release to get the old filter options back. Until then, you’ll need to use the new query language.

The done filter probably overlaps with the done filter set in the View (other users have reported something similar)

Thanks a lot for your answer.

We have listed all our numbered moving boxes in Vikunja. Being able to sort them in numerical order would be a great help.

So I hate asking this question, but any ETA on this future release by any chance ?

It’s a bit cumbersome, but as a workaround you could sort the tasks manually using drag and drop.

I’m off on vacation until the 23th August, might start working on it after that. I would say this might land in unstable in September.

Great news.

Have a great vacation !

Hello,

I hope you had a wonderful summer.

I wanted to follow up to see if you have a more precise estimated time of arrival for this feature.

Stéphane

It really was great, thank you.

The issue with the duplicate filter is now solved, but not yet released as stable, only in unstable.
