Vikunja.cloud keeps logging me off regardless of "Remember me" being checked

Hi guys. I’m using Vikunja through Vikunja.Cloud service (official hosting, not self-hosted). I like it very much but it annoys me quite heavily because it keeps logging me of every 30 mins or even less even if I checked “Remember me” option. I log in, go to the toilet or make a tea, and when I come back I’m already logged off.

Why is that? It’s not banking service where such short session is dictated by security.

Are you using the desktop app?

Today I tried Desktop app and the problem stands. I logged in, checked “Remember me” and even so, after 10-20 mins, I’ve been logged out automatically.
Also, couple times app logged me out, there were some errors displayed in the left bottom corner of the screen. Unfortunately popups closed too fast and I didn’t have time to take a photo or screenshot.
And I don’t know if the length of the session is deterministic. I have a feeling that it’s quite random, sometimes couple of minutes, sometimes 10-20 minutes when system decides to log me out.

I have the same issue with self hosted variant when using in a browser. As a webapp on ios the problem isnt there strangely

I just tested the unstable Desktop app from post desktop-app-and-web-app-aggressively-logs-out/4081

Nothing changes. After 10 mins app logs me out, no matter if I click “Remember me” or not.

I checked also 2 different Wifi networks from 2 different providers - no change.
This is ridiculous. I’ve payed 40 euros for Vikunja Cloud that I can barely use.

Recently installed 2.2.2 and getting the same behaviour on the desktop app, and sometimes but not always the web UI as well.

I’ve not timed it but login only stays alive for 10 to 20 mins so I am now testing with a longer VIKUNJA_SERVICE_JWTTTLSHORT setting given the default is 600 seconds. This is a home lab install not exposed externally so not a risk.

Well my test of changing VIKUNJA_SERVICE_JWTTTLSHORT didn’t work as an hour later and both desktop and web are logged out.

I am evaluating Vikunja at the moment and this is a real show stopper as it adds so much friction to regular use. Hopefully this can be fixed soon.

[Update] Just retested as I wasn’t sure I logged in after restarting the stack and this change may be working after all. If so then its the stay logged in that isn’t working as expected.
