Text entry for due date/reminder date

Edit: This feature request was flagged as spam without any explanation. I’m sorry, I am pretty new to this community, but this seems pretty unfriendly; this is clearly not “spam” and I think I described the suggestion clearly and thoughtfully. There’s not exactly a lot of noise in this forum, generally, so just wondering why this was rejected. If I’ve somehow posted in the wrong place, please just advise.

When creating a task I can use natural language to easily set a due date, e.g. “Some task 8/22” and it will parse the due date.

If I want to change the due date or add a reminder for an existing task, however, I have to use the date/time picker which is much more time consuming than just typing a date/time unless it happens to be one of the canned relative options.

Could the dialog to edit a due date or add/edit reminders simply have a place to accept text and parse it the same way as when creating a task?

Don’t worry too much about being flagged as spam. It’s a reasonable request.
