There is only e-mail reminders notification? I was surprised that reminders from all of my repeatable tasks were not displayed in the vikunja. Is that ok and vikunja does not have GUI reminders only e-mail?

That’s correct. There is an experimental feature when you use this on an android phone with the pwa (see here for some info about that) to show you reminders locally.
I plan on showing notifications on desktop/web as well.
