I thought I had written this down before somewhere, but cannot find it so here it is again:
I think the table view would really become very useful if you can click into any cell to edit it like in a spreadsheet.
I agree with this, and it would take a lot of pressure off wanting bulk edit for tasks. Being able to edit them quickly in the table view would be an acceptable substitute for me, at least for now, and I would imagine it might be a bit easier to implement.
