I’m playing with the demo and trying to do one of my most common actions. Looking at a task, I decide to break it down into subtasks. But I don’t see an “add subtask” button or keyboard shortcut.
The only way I’ve found to do this is to create a new task for each subtask, then go into each one and add a Parent relationship to the original task. Or, go to the parent and add a Subtask relationship for each new task.
I have to believe there’s a much simpler way that I’m looking right at and not seeing. The documentation only mentions this method, plus a way of adding subtasks when I create the original task (at which point I won’t have broken it into subtasks yet).
The correct way to add subtasks is via the relations. If I understood you correctly, you want to create a subtask (not just relate an existing one) right from the panel there?
That’s possible if you hit enter in the search field when no task is found.
Would it be possible for “add relation” to remember the last used relation? Clicking a pulldown and looking for the Subtask relation X number of times gets old fast.
It would be very useful to have a button/section/etc on a task’s page where a new task can be created which is automatically linked as a subtask. I often use subtasks to break down a broad task into actionable steps and the current process for making subtasks is cumbersome.
