On self-hosted docker :latest and on try.vikunja.io, sorting doesn’t work for sortable fields such as title, priority, due date, start date, end date, created, done, and progress. The only field that is sortable is id.
I had a hidden column that was sorting… so no other sorting would work. 
Problem solved.
