VIKUNJA_SERVICE_ALLOWICONCHANGES not working

So I find there is now per user setting which does seem to work.

Silly things like this in software for a product that wants to have paying users and companies is not a good idea.

Hi, what is the solution that works? For me in docker compose VIKUNJA_SERVICE_ALLOWICONCHANGES: false doesn’t have an effect and the logo is still changed

I didn’t find anything that worked in the compose file on existing users, however if you go into your user settings from the top right user name drop down, select ‘Settings’ then ‘General Settings’ and scroll down to ‘Appearance & Behaviour’ the ‘Show special logos during certain times’ turns it off for that user.

Maybe the VIKUNJA_SERVICE_ALLOWICONCHANGES flag sets the default for new users but I haven’t tested that yet as after spending a couple of hours on this I was in no mood to spend more time.

Excellent! Thank you. On the login screen it is still the “seasonal” logo. Quite disappointing that this env setting doesn’t work.

It’s not an ideology to support basic human rights and dignity for a historically and currently oppressed people who make up about 7-9% of the worldwide population; that’s just decency. Tell your “professional” clients to show compassion or just stop using the software.

The companies I work for supply customers paying 6 and 7 figures for software and those customers have strict rules on content for both suppliers and employees that has no place in their professional systems or data. This covers a wide range of topics and even some views that are generally considered ‘the common opinion’ are still banned as some other cultures and countries might have a different opinion.

There are plenty of places to show support and champion good causes, but embedding into commercial software is not one of them.

Difficult situation, sorry you have to deal with that.
