Missing positioning option in list view

Hi together,

I am really enjoying vikunja. But since the 1.0 update I am missing the option to reposition tasks in the list view while drag and dropping onto the 3 lines behind the task. Is there a option to enable this feature again which I don’t see or was this removed on purpose. Especially for groceries shopping list where I rearrange the order like the items are located in the market I really use this option. Thanks in advance for your help and keep up the good work!

Best regards, Julian

Hey Julian,

Drag and Drop should still work, just drag anywhere on the task in the list view. You can also move tasks to other projects by dragging and dropping them with 1.0.0.

Hi kolaente,

Thank you for your fast answer! I tried it again and in the desktop version I can perform drag and drop (but I barerly use vikunja on PC). On mobile devices (Android tablet and smartphone) which I normally use I tried it in mobile view as well as in Desktop view but I could not get it to work. All what happened when long pressing and trying to move the tasks is the marking of text. I tried Chrome, Firefox and Vivaldi all have the same behavior. Looks like it is a touchscreen/mobile issue. Please Check if you can reproduce it. Thank you!

Yeah that looks like a bug. I’ll check.

Fwiw seeing the same issue in my self-hosted instance since updating to v1.0.0. Drag & drop task reordering works on desktop but not on mobile (Android PWA).

This should be fixed in fix(list): add touch CSS properties to list view for mobile drag-and-drop by kolaente · Pull Request #2198 · go-vikunja/vikunja · GitHub, please check with the next unstable build (should be ready for deployment in ~30min, also on try).

I can confirm the fix in the Demo Version!

A few comments on the usability: it needs some time to get used to it, because you need to press the item quite long to enable the drag and drop (on mobile browsers). Maybe this could be shortened? Also I am not able to change the direction of the dragging once I decide to move it up it is working fine. But when I try to move it downwards again while still holding the item, it gets stuck and the browser triggers the scrolling of the page. Maybe you can look at this in the future (not critical points at All ). Or Maybe this is just a problem in my setup, somebody please correct me or confirm my feeling…

Overall I am happy at the moment, thanks for the quick fix!
