I just wanted to say how impressed I am with how much easier this has gotten to set up since the last time I set things up. No more faffing about with two images not talking to each other through docker compose, I was able to run everything from a single docker run command (granted, I already had the database setup) Very impressed! It took me less than 5 minutes to get everything working.
I loved this app before, and this has just made it all the better!
Thanks for the positive feedback! You’re welcome!
So… I got an email from Vikunja with a summary of posts in this forum since my last visit. I didn’t know I’d get those. Maybe I knew at some point but had forgotten. Either way, it was a welcome surprise because it included this post which brought this to my attention. I had no idea the containers had been consolidated. That’s great news! That will simplify things. I’m woefully out of date on most of my homelab services. What little time I do have lately I’ve been spending experimenting with k3s. I’ve made a note to update my vikunja instance.
On a side note… it looks like the official chart (at least it’s readme) still mentions a frontend and backend approach.
Appreciate it! There is a PR which updates the helm chart to the new container, but it seems rather inactive. I’m not using k8s myself, so I can’t really test it.
