Hi,
I got many tasks with the same id number. Is it normal? Or every task should have a different id number?
How this number is assigned?
Thank you!
Greetings,

Which number do you mean? The one that’s in the url or the one that shows up in the task detail page and the kanban board?
Sorry, the one in the table view.
Tasks in the same project.
Thank you.
That number is called an “index”. These are scoped per project and counted independently per project. Within one project, you should not see any duplicate indexes. You can add a project prefix to make them unique across project (the project prefix is combined with the task index).
There was a bug in the past which would sometimes create duplicate indexes when you created a bunch of tasks at once through the multiline input in Vikunja.
Ok, I created them that way, copying and pasting 200 hundred tasks through the multiline input
How can I add a project prefix? Could you give me a example?
Thank you!
You can add the project prefix in the settings - looks like it’s called “project prefix” there and I remembered it incorrectly.
