I am new to Vikunja, so forgive me if I am wrong, but it seems to me that there is no way to change the owner of a given project after the fact – which is problematic for a shared project where the owner is leaving the team at some point.
Would it be possible to add the possibility to transfer a project to a different owner to cover this scenario?
Alternatively, one could maybe consider to have ownership propagate to another admin of the shared project, or another user with write access, if no such user exists?
Currently, that’s not possible. I’ve added an item to the backlog to allow transferring ownership.

Where can one see the backlog? I searched a bit, but did not find anything.
Here you go: Vikunja

Looking at the user deletion handler, there seems to already be (afaik undocumented) behavior in place for the scenario of user deletion for shared projects, which does neither delete them nor transfer ownership, but grants admin status to the first user (by ID?) of the project?
That’s there to ensure each shared project has at least one admin.
