# Configurable Kanban task-entry position (top/bottom, insert direction)

Currently the Kanban board only lets you add a task via a single entry field pinned to the bottom of each bucket, and new tasks always appear at the top of the list.

This adds a per-user setting (User Settings → General) to control:

- whether an “add task” entry shows at the top, bottom, both, or neither
- whether each entry inserts new tasks at the top or bottom of the bucket

Default behavior is unchanged (bottom entry only, inserts at top).

[I have a working branch](https://github.com/go-vikunja/vikunja/compare/main...bradmartin333:vikunja:feat-kanban-add-config), but not sure about the proper way to create an AI-assisted PR for a feature (Not a bug).
